IMPRESSIVE QUALIFICATIONS
The National Association of Home Inspectors, Inc. (NAHI)® was established in 1987 as a nonprofit association to promote and develop
the home inspection industry.
The Certified Real Estate Inspector (CRI)® designation is bestowed upon home inspectors who demonstrate their knowledge of, and proficiency at, all aspects of home inspection. The CRI® designation
is received only after an individual has conducted 250 inspections,
passed the required examination and met all requirements set forth
by the NAHI® Board of Directors. The CRI® designation requires
re-certification on an annual basis. All CRI® Members must complete
16 Continuing Education Units (CEU's) per year. 16 CEU's are equal
to 16 hours of classroom study.
Certified Master Inspector (CMI)® is the inspection industry’s top professional designation. It is awarded to qualifying inspectors who have demonstrated a high level of competency by completing 1,000 fee-paid inspections and/or hours of inspection-related Continuing Education courses (combined) in their lifetime, proving they've been in the inspection business for at least three years, abiding by the industry's toughest Code of Ethics, substantially following a Board-approved Standards of Practice, submitting to a criminal background check, and applying for Board certification by signing an affidavit in front of a Notary.
The American Home Inspectors Training Institute (AHIT)®, Certified Master Inspector
(CMI)®, National Association of Home Inspectors (NAHI)®, and MI Institute of
Technology logos signify the completion of the most thorough training available
in the profession.
